Newtonmore can be reached by road or rail. It is situated on the B9150 which leaves the A9 about 35 miles North of Pitlochry and 14 miles south of Aviemore. The journey from Glasgow or Edinburgh takes 2½ to 3 hours hours; just under an hour from Inverness Newtonmore Station is on the main railway line between Edinburgh/Glasgow and Inverness. The Trail can be joined directly from Newtonmore Station.
